About the Artist

Hi, I'm Leah Harris, an artist originally from the New South Wales South Coast town of Nowra, and currently residing in the tropical North Queensland city of Townsville.

I love being outside witnessing the beauty of our great and varied landscapes while absorbing ideas to take back to the studio to inform my artworks.

I endeavor to bring the character of the landscape alive in each vibrant and unique piece as well as offering a deep connection to place for the viewer and myself alike.

My birdlife paintings are a fun characterful expression of the birds in Australia and painting them is truly joyful. I get to be bold with these pieces. I really enjoy the stencilled birds and object paintings as they are a contrast to my regular landscape style, with pattern and detail being the main focus.

My other hobbies include photography, quality time with my children + husband, kitten cuddles, and eating all the cakes!
